What is the Orange Tree 15-18 Youth Theatre?
The Orange Tree 15-18 Youth Theatre is an opportunity for young people interested in performing and theatre-making to have fun, be creatively challenged and collaborate with like-minded people. You will be taught by experienced directors, theatre-makers and actors to be bold, creative and passionate in your work during engaging weekly sessions.
Members meet once a week and over the year will:
- play lots of games
- explore creative expression in a safe and supportive environment
- have an annual exciting opportunity to perform on the OT stage
- learn a range of theatre-making skills including devising, improvisation, ensemble work, movement and vocal techniques, directing, writing, character development and rehearsal processes
- receive a Masterclass from OT staff to gain a wider understanding of how a theatre building operates
- receive a free ticket for a group trip to a show per term
The 15-18 Youth Theatre will perform in an informal sharing of the term’s work in Spring 2024. They will also perform as part of OT Community’s Intergenerational Festival in Summer 2024.

15 – 17’s sessions take place on Thursdays from 5:30PM – 7:30PM at the Orange Tree Theatre.

OT Youth Theatre groups are open to everyone aged 6-18. To book, click on the time on the left-hand side. To sign up to the waiting list or enquire about a trial session or ask any questions, email community@orangetreetheatre.co.uk

Cost and Bursaries
The cost is £165 per term.
To ensure that our Community programme remains accessible and open to everyone, we have limited bursary places available for all our participation projects. Please get in contact with Community Director Francesca, at francesca.ellis@orangetreetheatre.co.uk for more information.
