What is Movement Lab?

Movement Lab is a practical introduction course to movement for theatre.

You’ll develop your performance skills, using movement to unlock character and convey narrative. You’ll learn a variety of movement techniques and approaches, developing your skills both individually and as part of an ensemble.

Over the course of five weeks, you will:

  • Learn how to prepare the performers body for movement using physical techniques and games
  • Observe character exploration and narrative through movement
  • Enhance your skills of movement for performance, both individually and through collaborative group work
  • Deepen your understanding of how movement/dance may feature in a multitude of settings as a performer
  • Develop your theatrical tool kit & increase your confidence in performance

Movement Lab is open to anyone aged 18+. No previous experience is necessary- just a sense of curiosity!
