Trusts and foundations are essential partners in the Orange Tree’s work, helping us create outstanding theatre, support artists, open up access and reach young people and communities across Richmond and beyond.
The Orange Tree is one of London’s most distinctive producing theatres: an intimate 180-seat theatre-in-the-round with a national reputation for ambitious productions, rediscovered classics, new writing and artist development. We are also an independent charity, with no regular Arts Council England funding. That means philanthropic support is not additional to our work. It is what enables us to take artistic risks, keep theatre accessible, invest in talent and deliver programmes that would not otherwise be possible.
A grant to the Orange Tree has a direct and visible impact. It supports a theatre where audiences are close enough to feel every moment, where young people encounter live performance often for the first time, where artists can develop their craft, and where local communities can take part in creative work that builds confidence, connection and a sense of belonging.
We work closely with trusts, foundations and charitable organisations to identify the area of our work that best aligns with their priorities.
