OT Artists' Network

We are delighted to announce the first OT Artists’ Network Night of 2026, which will be a special edition in collaboration with the OT’s Community team, on Wednesday 8 April 2026 at 6:30pm.

Our April edition, Artists’ Network x Community, will be co-chaired by our Literary Associate William Gregory and Community Director Francesca Ellis. A panel of guests including Chris Sonnex (Artistic Director and joint CEO, Cardboard Citizens) and Community Theatre-Maker Jordana Golbourn will discuss community and participation work at the Orange Tree and across theatre more widely.

Tickets to the event are £5, and a drink is included in the price of your ticket.

Chris Sonnex is Artistic Director and Joint CEO of Cardboard Citizens, the UK’s leading professional theatre company for people with lived experience of homelessness and poverty. A director, dramaturg, film maker and arts leader, he is the first Artistic Director in the organisation’s history with lived experience of housing instability. His tenure at cardboard citizens has led to critical acclaim and award wins and nominations.

Previously Artistic Director of The Bunker Theatre, Chris led the venue to national recognition, receiving Best Fringe Theatre from The Stage and Best Artistic Director at the Off-West End Awards in 2020. He began his career at the Royal Court Theatre and helped establish Good Chance Theatre, helping to establish a theatre in the Calais refugee camp in 2015.

His directing work has been presented at venues including the Royal Court Theatre, Bunker Theatre, Almeida Theatre, Donmar Warehouse, Soho Theatre and the Liverpool Everyman. He is recognised for championing underrepresented artists and for creating ambitious, socially engaged theatre with lightness and joy.

Jordana Golbourn is a Community Theatre Maker whose work has taken place in places such as theatres, schools and alternative education provisions, prisons, women’s centre’s, and YMCAs across the U.K., New York and Thailand. She has worked extensively for companies such as Orange Tree Theatre, Almeida Theatre, Donmar Warehouse, Lyric Hammersmith and Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation. Her process is driven by play, curiosity and care. She has a Master of Arts by Research for her work with KPPL Productions and York St John University Prison Partnership Project, exploring the use of metaphor in personal and community narratives.
