A gift in your Will – of any size – helps the Orange Tree Theatre inspire future generations with bold productions, life-changing learning projects, and a welcoming home for our community in Richmond.

As a registered charity (no. 266128), gifts to the Orange Tree are exempt from Inheritance Tax. If you leave 10% or more of your estate to charity, your estate may qualify for a reduced Inheritance Tax rate (currently 36% instead of 40%)*.

Why legacies matter

  • Keep great theatre alive in the round: nurture artists, revive overlooked classics, and stage new work.

  • Open doors for young people: fund affordable tickets and hands-on workshops in local schools.

  • Make the building welcoming for everyone: support accessibility and community spaces.

How to gift in your Will

There are three main ways to support the Orange Tree Theatre in your Will:

  • A Residual Legacy, which is a share or a percentage of your estate
  • A Pecuniary Legacy, which is a fixed amount of money
  • Specific gifts or bequests, such as property or stocks and shares

If you already have a Will and would like to include a gift to the Orange Tree, you can make a straightforward and inexpensive amendment, or codicil, arranged through a solicitor.*

How we’ll recognise your gift

However you choose to give, thank you. If you wish, we can acknowledge your legacy in our programmes or on our website. Many supporters prefer to remain anonymous- we’ll always respect your wishes.

*Please bear in mind that this information is not intended to constitute legal advice and, when making your Will, you should do so in consultation with your independent professional adviser.
