What is woven on the loom of fate
What is woven in the councils of princes
Is woven also in our veins, our brains,
Is woven like a pattern of living worms
In the guts of the women of Canterbury.
Are you an experienced amateur singer and performer?
We are recruiting a community ensemble to play the Chorus of the Women of Canterbury in our autumn production of T.S. Eliot’s Murder in the Cathedral alongside David Suchet and a professional cast.
Participants will work with
- Director Tom Littler and Associate Director Francesca Ellis
- Music Director Michael Waldron and Associate Music Director Max Pappenheim on sections set to music by Composer Orlando Gough
- Movement Director and Choreographer Lizzi Kew Ross
- A professional cast, including four actors leading the chorus of the Women of Canterbury
We are looking for performers who:
- are proficient singers. Experience with choral music is especially relevant
- enjoy bringing a rich and poetic text to life
- are excited to work alongside an experienced professional team
Please note this is an unpaid opportunity for non-professional performers, overseen by the OT’s Community department. It is an opportunity for the community of Richmond and beyond to take part in this very special production. We expect the group of women cast to have an enriching and rewarding experience, working closely with the professional cast and creative team.
