Joining us for the Ben and Imo Saturday Seminar is Martin Fitzpatrick.
Martin is Head of Music at English National Opera where his conducting credits include La Bohème, Madame Butterfly, Carmen, Falstaff, La Traviata, The Turn of the Screw and the Olivier Award-winning Noye’s Fludde at Theatre Royal, Stratford East.
As Assistant Conductor, he has worked on numerous Benjamin Britten operas and recordings including Death in Venice, Peter Grimes and Billy Budd. He has worked in major opera houses both nationally and internationally including Glyndebourne (where he worked on their acclaimed Britten productions of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Billy Budd and Albert Herring), Opera North, Scottish Opera, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, La Monnaie and Royal Danish Opera. His international conducting credits include Curlew River with Ian Bostridge as the Ferryman in New York, San Francisco and at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg. He is also an experienced chorus master, translator and editor with organisations such as Opera Rara and the BBC Singers.
