Updates to Entrances and Accessibility at the OT – February 2026

As work begins on our capital project to make the OT open to everyone, if you’ve visited us before, you’ll notice that there are some changes at the theatre when you visit.

If you have a ticket booked in the balcony, the entrance to the auditorium will no longer be through the Attenborough Room, but rather through the door at the far side of the bar. The walk to the new entrance is slightly longer, and includes eight steps, with the entrance and exit to the auditorium upstairs in the opposite corner to the usual entrance. The Attenborough Room will be inaccessible from the bar/foyer area and from the balcony.

As we start to upgrade our bathroom facilities, the existing accessible toilet will not be available until the middle of March. Instead, the accessible bathroom will now be located in the OT’s Bank building (the large orange building on the corner right next to the theatre), accessible via a lift. For each performance, there will be a member of our front of house team available to assist anybody who needs to use the accessible facilities. Please let us know when you arrive if you require the accessible bathroom.

As the project progresses, more changes will be made to access for audience members, and our website will be updated to explain those changes.

We appreciate that, in the short term, these changes are likely to cause some inconvenience, but we thank you for your patience while we transform the OT to make it a theatre that can be enjoyed by everyone.

If you have any questions or concerns, please get in touch with our box office team: box.office@orangetreetheatre.co.uk or 020 8940 3633.

Thank you.
