Anna Fleischle • Red Speedo
Anna Fleischle’s bold and striking design saw our stage replaced with the claustrophobic environs of an Olympic swimming pool, complete with dramatic rippling shadows, blue walls, and, of course, a sizeable body of chlorinated water.

Peter Ashmore • Uncle Vanya
Stepping in at the last moment can be a terrifying prospect, but Peter Ashmore made it look easy earlier this year, when he took over the titular role in Uncle Vanya and brought his own flare to the part. Bravo.

Tom Attwood’s design took us on a lucid journey through the elegant Swiss hotel suite that provides the environs for Coward’s drama, weaving between the three narratives and ultimately helping tie them together.

Best Supporting Performer in a New Production of a Play
Madeleine Grey • Uncle Vanya
Madeleine Gray’s performance in Uncle Vanya proved the importance of having actors of all experience levels share a stage; she began rehearsals without an agent, and by the end of performances, had not only secured one, but been singled out time and again in reviews as a particular highlight of the production. We think this achievement deserves all the accolades possible.
