10 years ago, Giles, Jon and Simon starred together in the original London production of Avenue Q. Giles had already been round the block a few times, but it was Jon and Simon’s big break. Since then, they’ve all gone on to play numerous leading roles in the West End and at the National Theatre.
Mutual antipathy has prevented them from ever working together again. Until now. For one night only, they’re putting those deep-seated resentments to one side. Under the musical direction of Alex Williams, they will present an irreverent evening of song, banter and more larking about than you can shake a shtick at, featuring songs from Avenue Q and their many other musical theatre triumphs. This is the very first time the show has been performed, and depending on how much damage it does to their professional reputations, it could be the last. You wouldn’t want to risk missing it.
Simon Lipkin has been in The Lorax at the Old Vic. Other theatre includes I Love You You're Perfect Now Change, Assassins, Rock of Ages and Spamalot.
Jon Robyns has been Caractacus Potts in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (West Yorkshire Playhouse). He has appeared in Memphis, The Last Five Years, Road Show, Les Miserables, Rent and Miss Saigon.
Giles Terera is about to appear in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom at the National Theatre. Previous musical appearances include The Book of Mormon, The Rat Pack, Rent, Candide and Honk!
